Survey Info URGENT please read!
November 13, 2024
Good morning,
There may be some confusion about the “income survey” that the Jackson WSC Board has asked our customers to participate in.
The facts are as follows:
- The Jackson WSC has made application to the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) for funds to make necessary repairs and up-grades to our system.
- The TWDB has asked us to do an income survey of our customers to see if they qualify for “subsidized funding”. That survey includes only three questions. Your address; your income and the number of people in your household.
- Failure to provide this information will result in “no subsidized funding” allotted to our system. This means that your water rates will increase more if we do not get these subsidies.
- Your water rates will go up regardless of whether you take the survey or not, as these repairs and up-grades are not optional. However, the Jackson WSC is doing everything we can to keep those increases down. Customers participating in this income survey is a large part of that effort.
- We are asking you to do your part to keep your rates as low as possible. You can do that by participating in this survey.
- Time is now critical. Because many of our customers have, for whatever reason, decided to not participate in the survey. We now have only a couple of weeks to complete the survey, and then we will lose the opportunity to qualify for these subsidized funds.
In summary:
These repairs and up-grades must be done or the system will be in violation with the regulations. As a result, the Jackson WSC may be subject to fines and regulatory enforcement. This income survey and project are necessary to maintain water service to our customers while keeping our water rates as low as possible. Please help us keep the water rates low as possible and take this survey.
Please call our office at (903)-566-1320as soon as possible and take this survey. We have until November 27th to get this completed.
Thank you.
