TheU.S. EnvironmentalProtectionAgency(U.S. EPA) has establishedtheMCLfor TTHM at0.080 mg/L,andhas determinedthatitisahealthconcernatlevelsabove theMCL.Analysis of drinkingwaterinyour communityfor TTHM indicatesalevelof 0.109 mg/L.

Trihalomethanes are a group of volatile organic compounds that are formed when chlorine, added to the water during the treatment process for disinfection, reacts with naturally occurring organic matter in the water.

Weareworking tocorrecttheproblem: The Trihalomethanes limit was high on one of the samples locations. We feel this is due to under flushing and results of the unused dead end line created by high CL2 treatment. We maintain a slightly higher rate of CL2 to help the tanning in this water system. Our plan is to continue the flushing the end line more frequently.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, school, and business). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
